About Jonathan
Backpacking
- Successfully completed a NOBO thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail as a Trail Chaplain for A.T. Servants in 2005.
- Involved
in backpacking for over 20 years.
- Extensive
backpacking experience in both the Appalachian and Rocky Mountain Range.
- Successfully
backpacked up to 14,255 feet in elevation (over twice the elevation of the
highest point on the AT).
- Successfully
backpacked over 30 miles per day for multiple days in a row (over twice the
distance of average hiking day on an AT thru-hike).
Rock Climbing
- Involved
in rock climbing for over three years.
- Extensive
rock climbing experience in both the Appalachian and Rocky Mountain Range.
- Successfully
climbed technical rock (5.11b) up to 14,000 in elevation.
- Successfully
climbed multiple advanced rock climbing routes from every genre: traditional
(up to 5.11c), sport (up to 5.12c), and bouldering (up to V8).
Education
- Graduated
with Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Clemson University
(December 2004).
- Graduated
Summa Cum Laude (GPA = 4.00).
- Member
of Beta Gamma Sigma Honors society for business majors.
- Involved
in Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) campus ministry.
