Are you prepared to bear the burden of a

Trail Chaplain?

What is a Trail Chaplain?

A Trail Chaplain is a godly Christian man or woman, who feels called to help nudge hikers to come to know Jesus as their savior.   This Christian is a highly motivated and self disciplined hiker who plans to hike at least three consecutive months on the Appalachian Trail. Because they will be walking, living with, and developing relationships with the other thru-hikers, Trail Chaplains are more apt to meet the mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of their fellow hikers.

This task is not for the faint of heart.  As a Trail Chaplain, your hike will no longer be your own.  In addition to hundreds of people following you via a daily journal, you will have the added responsibility of making a concerted effort to be an effective witness for Christ.

While this is a big burden to carry, the satisfaction of completing long sections of the Appalachian Trail, pushing your self to the physical, mental, and spiritual limit, and the pleasure of having been obedient in sharing your faith with hikers is worth the sacrifice!
